Nationals was a treat! What a great time doing what I love to do bowl! I shot good in team event 191, 223, 204 for a 618 and a nice profit in the brackets. That was a 2:30 squad in the afternoon so the 7 am squad the next day in doubles and singles was fun. I bowled a 56? something in doubles and a 497 in singles. I just did not have the right ball in my hand the second day. The harder I tried the worse I got. Anyway, I donated the second day in brackets and leads me to the real question of this blog.
What are we bowlers going to do next year when the Nationals are in Vegas and the airlines are charging us outrageous fees for the extra weight, bags, etc. I left one of my bowling balls at home this time because of the fees and ofcourse that's the one I needed for the second day. (It sounds like a good excuse!) Hey, it still cost me $50 at check-in at the airport. I shipped them home from the tourney site and saved all of $10. Anyway, back to my plan.
I am going to save all the money in shipping costs and fees and just buy a ball or two at the site and have them drill it for the condition. I bowl late enough in the tourney they should know what works. Then I break even and just ship them back and I have some new equipment. What do you think? I can't bowl any worse doing it that way can I?
Let me know how everyone is going to get around the airlines' fees. I know Southwest is saying they have no fees, but we will see if that lasts a year!
Good Luck to All,
Sixpack
